Sandra Worth is an internationally published author of six historical novels on England's Wars of the Roses chronicling the demise of the Plantagenets and the rise of the Tudors, three with Penguin U.S.A. She has won dozens of awards and prizes and each book is an award-winner.

490 novels were entered into the 2003 contest. The final judges included top industry professionals, directors, film marketing professionals, fiction writers, playwrights, fiction editors, screenwriters, executive producers, and literary agents.

The Rose of York swept all nine categories of the 2000 Authorlink New Author Awards Competition to win the $500 Authorlink Grand Prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to the University of Georgia after winning the $100 First Place Prize in the Historical/Western genre.
